Fuzzy control method for variable static pressure based on regulation rules of terminal damper position in VAV air conditioning systems

Analyses the regulation relationship between terminal damper position and the static pressure set-point in the regulating process of supply air rate. Proposes a fuzzy control method for variable static pressure based on regulation rules of terminal damper position using functioning fuzzy subset inference method, which is benefit for modularized encapsulation, easy commissioning and practical engineering application. Validates the control performance and energy saving effect of the method by comparative experiment study. The results show that the variable static pressure fuzzy control method can reduce the power consumption of fans by 14% and 16% in winter and summer conditions, respectively, compared with the conventional constant static pressure method. By reasonably selecting the fuzzy basic domain of static pressure variation, the control method can further reduce the power consumption of fans by 33% and 11% in winter and summer conditions, respectively.
